Terms of Service
Last updated: 18 August 2026
By using RoadSignal you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. Safety — read this before anything else
Do not interact with RoadSignal while driving. Set your destination and your settings before you move. Use voice guidance and audible alerts rather than looking at the screen.
RoadSignal does not excuse you from anything. You remain fully responsible for obeying all traffic laws, speed limits, signs and signals, and for driving to the conditions. Nothing this app shows you — a route, an alert, a camera warning, the absence of any of them — is permission to do anything unlawful or unsafe.
Never rely on RoadSignal as your only source of information. Alerts are contributed by other drivers and by public data feeds. They are frequently incomplete, out of date, or simply wrong. A road may be closed with no alert. A hazard may be gone before the alert expires. A camera may exist where none is shown.
Routing can be wrong. Follow the actual road, its signage and its conditions, not the line on the map. Do not enter a road that is closed, restricted or unsafe because the app suggested it.
Do not use this app to break the law. It is provided to help you drive attentively and avoid surveillance you have a legitimate interest in avoiding. It is not provided to help you speed, evade lawful enforcement, or interfere with police activity.
2. Where you may use it
Laws about apps that report the location of police, speed cameras and enforcement equipment differ by country and sometimes by region, and in some places such features are restricted or prohibited. You are responsible for knowing whether use of RoadSignal is lawful where you are driving, and for not using it where it is not.
3. Your account
RoadSignal creates an anonymous account for you automatically. You are responsible for what happens on your account and on your device. You may delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete my account, or at roadsignalapp.com/delete-account.
You must be at least 13 and, where the app is used while driving, hold a valid licence for the vehicle you are driving.
4. What you contribute
You keep ownership of what you create — your reports, routes, garage entries, photos and messages.
By submitting a hazard report or publishing a route, you grant Cash Swafford a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display and distribute it within the app to other users, for as long as it remains in the service.
This licence deliberately survives deletion of your account for two specific things, both of which are described in the Privacy Policy: hazard reports you have submitted (retained without any link to you, because other drivers rely on them), and messages you have already sent (retained in the recipient's own copy of the conversation, without any link to you). Everything else you created is deleted with your account.
5. Things you may not do
- Submit deliberately false, misleading or malicious reports.
- Use messaging to harass, threaten or abuse anyone.
- Use the app to track, follow or locate a specific person without their knowledge. Convoy location sharing is opt-in, session-scoped, and intended for people driving together.
- Scrape, bulk-extract or resell data from the service, or attempt to circumvent rate limits.
- Interfere with the service, or attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours.
- Use the app in any way that is unlawful where you are.
We may remove content and suspend or delete accounts that do these things.
6. Third-party data and services
RoadSignal displays data from third parties, including map imagery, address search, points of interest, camera and enforcement data derived from OpenStreetMap, public aircraft transponder broadcasts, and public traffic feeds. We do not control that data, do not guarantee it, and are not responsible for it. It may be inaccurate, incomplete or unavailable at any time.
7. Availability
RoadSignal is provided as-is. We do not promise it will be available, uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it. Features that depend on a network connection will not work without one.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, RoadSignal is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cash Swafford is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss arising out of your use of — or inability to use — RoadSignal. This includes, without limitation, traffic citations, collisions, injury, vehicle damage, missed arrivals, and any consequence of relying on an alert that was wrong, late, or absent.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, in which case they apply only to the extent permitted.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is material, the app will say so before it takes effect. Continuing to use RoadSignal after that means you accept the change.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States of America.
